Corinne Bailey Rae - Is This Love - The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

What is it about women from the UK? I don't know but they make my heart go pitter patter! Thandie Newton & Corinne Bailey Rae work me.

Hi y'all,

In the case of Bailey Rae, I think it's more about her youthfull innocence. I do believe the accent is a drawing card, but for me it's more about the way they work their craft.

When Bailey Rae first broke out, I was like who is this woman? Her voice was not that strong, but the sincerity in her songs touched my heart. In the song "Is This Love" it has an old school flavor that hits my groove zone. And the background brought it home.

You know what's funny, I would never play her music when other folks were around because I didn't think "my crowd" was into her sound. And, at first (because I'd never seen her perform) I thought she was a white girl. But I've loved her music from the jump. I have no problem putting some of her songs on repeat.

Kathy, I am not up on Adelle. In fact, I've never heard her sing until listening to that link. So, I'd have to listen to a few more of her songs before I cast my vote.

But I do like Leona Lewis. However, having said that, I feel she needs a different producer, song writer, or team. Her stuff (now) to me, is a little flat. I love her voice, but some of her songs just don't grab me.

Well, compared to this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbuvLJnAysM
